I have run into an issue that I’ve been trying to solve for a few days now.
I have some .webm video files for web stored away from my WordPress installation.

Previously, I was using the Post Type->Video and then adding in Youtube URL into the built in oEmbed text field in the post editor.

I can no longer use YouTube, so I switched to something more reliable, I can now host all of my videos in this direct link fashion in webm format.

The issue is that I do not know how to get the video displayed in the thumbnail.

I have looked at some plugins, but they seem to only support the oEmbed providers, I could not find one that was actually allowing me to use a direct url.

I am open to ANY SOLUTION here.
