plugins – Unable to edit page after attempting inline Javascript in Elementor

Question

In Elementor I added a text widget and then edited the text to see if I could do some simple inline javascript for the purpose of obfuscating some of the contact information to less sophisticated bots which may not run the javascript on the page before scraping phone numbers and email addresses.

In a text field widget I entered, <script>document.writeln('Hello there.')</script> and now the page is unable to be viewed in Elementor. I can visit the page in another browser, and see the text ‘Hello there’ where it’s supposed to be, but can no longer edit anything on the page in elementor. Below are the images of what I have.

Above you see that the editing window of Elementor is broken. I can’t figure out even how to remove the text that broke it.

This shows that the text actually renders correctly when view outside of Elementor from a different browser.

Question:

1. Is there a way to do what I’m trying to do without breaking Elementor?
2. If not, is there a way to at least revert what I did?
