plugin development – Menu Structure and URL structure, with Pages and Post-Type-Posts

Question

I have some szenarios where I’m stuck. I’m asking from a perspective of someone who can code and wants to avoid using plugins.

If you want your menu to have this structure:

  • Events (custom post type archive for custom post type “event”)
    • Ticket-Info (just a normal WP page)

and you want your URLs to be https://domain.com/events for the listing of events (post type archive) and https://domain.com/events/ticket-info for the normal wp page.

What are your options?

Same question for the other way around:

If you want your menu to have this structure:

  • Some-Page (just a normal WP page)
    • Events (custom post type archive for custom post type “event”)

and you want your URLs to be https://domain.com/some-page for the normal wp page and https://domain.com/some-page/events for the listing of events (post type archive).

What are your options?

Also, if you want your menu to have this structure:

  • Events (Actually no page or whatever, just a menu item)
    • Event-Listing (custom post type archive for custom post type “event”)
    • Ticket-Info (just a normal WP page)

and you want your URLs to be https://domain.com/events/event-calendar for the listing of events (post type archive) and https://domain.com/events/ticket-info for the normal wp page.

What are your options?
