I want to make a modification to a slide that appears on my main page, but I don’t know how to do that.

The site uses the “Carmack” template and here is his template:

It has how to highlight the posts, by placing the tag “featured” it is inserted first in this main slide, the most recent go to the first place. It has space for 8 featured posts, 5 of which are on the slide and the other 3 are below as normal posts, as it is in the demo.

However, I would like the slide images to be fixed, regardless of the date they were placed and only the bottom three to change, I would like to know how I do this without having to change the dates.
