I’m wondering how I can create a directory on my server to serve files to one of my multi-site pages.

With a standard wp installation, I could create a folder in my main directory /files for example.

How can I do this with multi-site? I’ve tried it the same way, but keep getting 404 when I try to visit mysite.com/files/file.zip.

I’d like to do it this way, instead of through the media uploader, because I have a lot of .pdf, .pptx, .docx, and .zip files and I want to use a custom folder structure to keep them (and their URLs) organized. I also do not want them to be quite as easily found as /wp-content/uploads/....
