Elementor fails to save drafts if text is underlined (it does not use standard HTML tags)

I’ve recently come to notice that Elementor underlines text not by using a standard <u> </u> tag, but rather by using <span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span>.

This has the effect of yielding a 403 (forbidden) error when creating a post with Elementor and attempting to save the draft.

The website where I’m noticing this bug was saved from malware, the DB was cleaned up and the offending code was throughly removed from the site; also, core WordPress upgrades overwrote every possible WP file, and the site is running smoothly ever since, except for this annoying behaviour.

In the meantime, I’ve advised the savvy users to edit the source code for their posts and replace <span style="text-decoration: underline;"> </span> with <u> </u>, which sort of defeats Elementor’s intuitive drag & drop element building style’s nature.

Has any of you experienced this situation?
