Divi slider customization help

Question

I tried posting on the Divi forums and contacting Divi support, but was told to look elsewhere for answers so here I am hoping someone has a thought…

I’m using a Divi child theme. In the Divi slider module, there are controls beneath the images, which are basically just dots, which are elements, showing you how many slides there are and what active slide is current.

What I’m trying to do is just display those dots as indicators, not links (which Divi defaults to) for accessibility purposes.

I can use CSS to render the tags disabled, but you can still tab over those controls with the keyboard which is bad for visually impaired users since they shouldn’t be links.

I know how to change this with jQuery setting the tabindex to -1. However, there is a native Divi script that runs AFTER my script and it builds out those slider controls. So my script is rendered moot.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My script is running in Theme Options Integration and I also tried it as a Code module, but Divi’s script always runs after mine and I don’t know how to get my jQuery code to stick.

Any thoughts most welcome!
